After starting his career as a playback singer, he appeared in films as an actor.

Krish was born in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, but moved to New York City after his father, a banker, moved abroad for a post. So he changed his school and spent 15 years in America. While in New York City, Krish worked as an assistant on the sets of The Cosby Show and National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2004), assisting teams in conducting pre-production work.

He also completed an acting course at the New York Film Academy. He appeared on Broadway in the Disney production of Walt in Aladdin before coming to Chennai hoping to break into the industry as an actor.

In his first few months back in Chennai, Krish participated in stage shows and cultural events as a singer and was recruited by composer Ganesh Kumar to sing the Western songs on an album. Ganesh gave the details of Krish to music composer Haris Jayaraj. He was nominated for several Filmfare Awards and won the Vijay Award for Best Singer. He also works as a lyricist, and for the romantic comedy Kandaen (2011) he wrote two songs.

Filmmakers in the Tamil film industry were offering acting roles to Krish in their undertakings, but he insisted that he only play lead roles. Producer Ibrahim Rowther found Krish’s song “Aga Naga” and offered him the chance to appear in his production Priyadha Anandam Puthithaga Arambam. The film, a romantic love story in which he stars alongside Srushti Dange, began filming in late 2012 but was not released until June 2015.

The film had a modest opening and received negative reviews. He also released a six-track independent music album in June 2015, featuring compositions by Vijay Ebenezer and videos by Nikesha Patel. He worked with Ebenezer on the project for two years, heavily promoting the song “Maya” from the album.
