Belgium's Prince Amedeo marries Elisabetta Rosboch von Wolkenstein in Rome

Princess Beatrice, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians were just some of the royal guests at Prince Amedeo's wedding on Saturday 5 July.The 28-year-old Belgian royal, whose uncle is reigning monarch King Philippe, tied the knot with his Italian girlfriend of seven years Elisabetta Rosboch von Wolkenstein at the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere, Rome.

Elisabetta, who is known as Lili, stepped out in a breathtaking ivory Valentino gown with intricate lace detail accompanied by her aristocratic father, Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein.

Also following the bride into the church were her bridesmaids who included Amedeo's cousin and goddaughter, Princess Elisabeth, who is Belgium's future queen.Looking on proudly at their 12-year-old daughter were Queen Mathilde and King Philippe, who were joined by their three other children Prince Gabriel, ten, Prince Emmanuel, eight, and six-year-old Princess Eléonor

Supporting Amedeo on his special day were his parents Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz, grandparents former King Albert and Queen Paola and his four siblings Princess Maria-Laura, 25, Prince Joachim, 22, Princess Luisa-Maria, 18, and Princess Laetitia-Maria, 11.Amedeo's uncle Prince Laurent, who was hospitalised with pneumonia in March, also stepped out with his Bath-born wife Princess Claire and their eight-year-old twin sons Prince Aymeric and Prince Nicolas. The couple's ten-year-old daughter Louise was another of Elisabetta's bridesmaids.

Lavinia Borromeo, whose sister Beatrice has been dating Monegasque royal Pierre Casiraghi for six years, attended the wedding with husband John Elkann.Unaccompanied by her boyfriend Dave Clark, Princess Beatrice of York recycled the elegant nude Valentino dress she wore for Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding.

Amedeo, who is sixth-in-line to the Belgian throne, announced his engagement to Elisabetta in February.The prince was educated at a British military academy and the London School of Economics, but moved to New York to work as an analyst in Deloitte shortly after graduating. 

Elisabetta studied in London at the Queen Mary University where she gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and film.The Rome-born beauty, who is the only child of Ettore Rosboch von Wolkenstein and Countess Lilia Smecchia, works in the Big Apple as a journalist covering the arts and culture section of Bloomberg, using the name Lili Rosboch.
