Meghan Markle Changed Her Engagement Ring
- The band on Meghan Markle's engagement ring seems to have been swapped from yellow gold to a micro pavé design.
- The updated ring was spotted in photos from Trooping the Colour in early June, but was also seen at baby Archie's debut in early May.
- The Duchess of Sussex's engagement ring features a center stone from Botswana and two stones from Princess Diana's collection.
When Meghan Markle attended Trooping the Colour earlier this month, we were too focused on her new eternity ring that we didn't realize her actual engagement ring looked different too. Town & Country points out that the band on the Duchess of Sussex's engagement ring has been swapped from a yellow gold design to a micro pavé one.

If you look closely, you'll notice tiny diamonds line the outside of the band, which weren't initially there when Meghan first debuted her ring in November 2017.

It's currently unclear when or why the duchess changed her famous piece of jewelry, but she was already wearing the new band at baby Archie's debut on May 8, T&C reports.
According to the outlet, it's also unclear if Meghan's updated engagement ring is a new piece of jewelry altogether, or if the band is just temporary to accommodate for her changing body post-pregnancy. Either way, we're loving the stone-heavy ring on the duchess.

Harry originally worked with the jeweler Cleave & Company to create Meghan's engagement ring. He chose yellow gold for the band because it's her favorite, he revealed in their first joint interview after announcing their engagement. The center stone is a cushion-cut diamond from Botswana, which Meghan said is a "special" place to her and Harry. Two smaller round-cut diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection flank the middle gem.

Meghan stopped wearing her engagement ring at public appearances later on in her pregnancy, likely due to swelling fingers (which is normal for women who are expecting). At a few work events in March, her last month of public royal duty before starting maternity leave, she was seen only wearing her wedding band. This one is a Welsh gold ring made by the royal jeweler Cleave & Company and is a gift from the queen.
